Govannen went to Smiths in Bourne for the first time as a quartet. Always a long drive for me there 1hour & 20min. Nic egig tho and compared with long wedding gigs doing 2 x 50min sets is easy. Sold a couple of CDs - got home 1am aware I needed to be up and smart to be in Nottinghamshire by noon for...

Solo piano gig at Woodborough Hall
My first solo piano gig in a while - 3 x 40min sets in an orangery in the rather swish Woodborough Hall for a 50th wedding anniversary. Hot day - plus being in a kind of greenhouse, plus still feeling tired from previous nights late gig meant it seemed like a long day but it was appreciated.
home, washed, changed, fed and out in about an hour for....
Roger Pugh & Diane's leaving do...@ The Musician
My old muzo compadre Roger & partner Diane are leaving Leicester for Bromyard in the Welsh borders and held a musical bash at The Musician Pub - so many muzo hippies in one room! I joined him and played whistles and sang for 2 numbers - Rebel & Tarmac Revolution along with a 7 piece band including his son Sammy on the drums, Tonia Tempest vocals, Greg Tempest guitar, Roger Wilson violin, Paulo Carnoth djembe, Arindam Chaudhuri bass. Felt like going back in time. Be sorry to see them go.
Didn't stay long as I was very tired and for G it was her first night out with or without crutches since her op.
