On Friday I had Jim and James fromThe Bridge come over - James wanted to do some sampling into his Kaoss Pads of some drums and other loops - we also had a nice listen thru to our session the other day.

Saturday - mostly doing house things - trips to the tip etc

Sunday
I had a songs slot at The Musician - a day long event called Generations - featuring rising starts and golden oldies - I was the oldest ... :-)
I jammed one song on low whistle with singersongwriter Sally Hossack - went very well - funny how I;m always at my best when I donlt know what I;m doing. On my solo set I got Jim the Cajon and Tim the Glockenspiel to join me - did a laid back set as it was quietish -
set - Coming In To Land, I Want Something, Nobody Loves Me (Like I Do), Help Me, Forget About You

Came home and felt quite poorly and had rough night

Monday

Sure enough seems to eb another bug - I think I've been fighting it off all weekend which probably means I got it on Thursday at Mosaic. Odd - whenever I meet lots of people at a gig I pick something up a coupla days later...

Tuesday

Sorted out the phone and internet for the new house. Was gonna change to but the system makes it hard to change so I stuck with BT.

In evening I played a 30mins set opening for Americana singer-songwriter Kim Richey - decided to tone down the filk and play songs with more Americana feel. Strangely I had a really receptive crowd - laughed at evey little nuance of what i said. Played serious set but ended up on Alien Jellyfish Song as they were so jolly. Sold 4 CDs (again did live price of £5.) Saw some old chums the Willmores who I hadn't seen in ages. Kim wa s anice lady and a good singer songwriter - a bit more countryish than I usually like but she had a great voice and certainly was popular - I was feeling a bit poorly again so left after her first set which was a shame but I was happy I;d been able to do the gig.

set - I Don't Know, Proud Of You, Lifespell, Train of Thought, Bobby Caseys, Finally, Alien Jellyfish Song

Blimey - not seen 'em for a decade - knew them via drumming band with Carol. Still got a recording of a New Year's Eve '98 jam day I had with Les and Pete Rigg at their old place in Wigston - might be worth digging up and polishing sometime. Found them online a coupla years back and swapped an email or two then lost 'em again when one I sent got returned - methinks maybe they're not online much as I'm still awaiting a friend request to Les on FB. Did you get any deetz from them?
