unclechristomy reworked funky version of the web tv theme was considered a bit close to 70s porn movie music - a genre that I am , of course, unfamiliar with. Toned down the funky hiphopness and remixed, also mixing various closing credits variations.
I did kinda start recording an Irish song for Bridget but it didn't get much past the thinking stage, tho i did learn the song off youtube and chose a basic drum pattern.
In the evening I had a jazz duo gig with Andy Nicholls at the Walkers Stadium - it was an NHS awards ceremony - funny we started in the biggest room ever to 3 people for about 10mins and it slowly filled to 550 people and we couldn;t hear ourselves think - after an hour dinner was called, they all filed out and we were back alone in the huge room. Nice to see some folks I knew randomly from the NHS.
I got a copy of Riverside's 2nd album Second Lfe Syndrome (I have their 3rd) - they are a strange mix - prog metal-ish oft copared to Floyd and Porcupine Tree, but with quite a soft singer and capable of gentle left turns. They are, like the in the 3rd album totally obsessed with what I call Arabic (flattened 2nd) scales riffing which is almost in every song. Used to annoy me but it's kinda hypnotizing now and fun when they manage to break out of it. They have a kind of depressive goth feel too. They make a nice noise tho and I;ll prolly get their new album when it comes out in a coupla weeks.
