Friday's Govannen gig at Ashby Folville was a lot more civilized than last time we were there - probably because John Unthank and the When Cousin's Marry crowd were not there. Quite a pleasant mellow gig. Sold 2 CDs - a Sniff the Pony and a Water is Wide
Saturday's ceilidh at Greetham Valley Golf Club was also really pleasant - nice to have Neil back after his back operaqtion - playing bodhran instead of his cajon drum. Nice folks were really up for dancing all evening.
6 Irish gigs in 9 days completed!!!! Nice to have the money but I Am SHATTERED!
Sunday - shot up to Sheffield to do the Moms day thing meal out with Gs family at the Silversmiths restaurant. Mothers day is odd for me as we never celebrated it in my family at all.Otherwise I edited and mastered the recording of my last ever solo songs gig at the Phoenix (The Last Phoenix sounded like a cool title for a bootleg disc) -0 I then got into choosing the best from the Donkey gig and the Phoenix gig which involved remastering the Donkey set to be as loud as the Phoenix set. End result? Not sure - a possible live album ("The Phoenix and the Donkey" ??) Need to listen thru - otherwise just keep recording live sets all year and see if anything better shows up.
Was amazed to see how many and the quality of free books and stories downloadable to my ipod touch Stanza reader. I only looked at the Feedbooks catalogue so far and bagged plenty of gems. Lost stories by fave authors - not all of them ancient.
Tomorrow I'm supposed to be recording with Carl the Sitar but we hadn't fixed a time - wonder if he has remembered. Carl Time can be a bit ...elastic...
