Well it seems the mono-ness of the guitar and and my stuff in the recording can't be fixed . I;d just assumed as we had stereo kit and plugged 2 jacks each into the desk that we would be recorded in stereo. I mixed the music and spent half the day thinking it wasn't a problem as the music sounded pretty good - and the other half of the day realising that we hadn't got what we went in for, soundwise or musically. So, as our kit s still in it's boxes and the studios drums are still miked up I decided to book us in again on Friday and write off the recordings we've taken yesterday as it had been intended to be - a good rehearsal/work out etc.

I realised a few things listening back - mostly that having the drums louder and clearer demands a different response from guitarman and I - with drums up close there needs to be more going on - more lead work, bolder playing. I also need to settle in and dig in on one instrument at a time for longer - something I do in new circumstances. And the drummer needs to think about the kit in different ways etc. All good thinking.

3 jazz gigs came in today.

My head is backed up with quite a few necessary tasks that need attending to. I need a day solely promoting Chocolate Bossa. And another on songs and another on licensing tracks. I also need a day looking thru my finances and to sort some house stuff. I also need to start plans on the next planned new age project albums - actually perhaps not plan - just start something. There's lots of technical stuff to sort too - synth programming, boring computer tech stuff (to SP2 or not to SP? - if not - a new antivirus needed)

I also am getting a nagging and growing sound in my head - electronic, very minimal, theremin, electric guitar, all put through my big effects loop, plus live filtering, layered, with some field recordings thrown in. The sound in my head is growing. and calling. Distracting me a bit from my Continuum band head, and the songs and promotion new age project heads.

Tomorrow I have a 30min set at an open mic. Bridget is over from Ireland so we'll do a noodle bar and do some songs at the open mike. This at least will give my electronic head a  rest.

Head is busy - can you tell? - positively so tho - It's time to make some BIG lists... I'm finding it a little harder switching heads these days.

Heard sad news today - an acoustic club regular Mick Cooper passed away in his sleep - just 60 - a fine guitar player and singer. He will be missed especially at the Whiteouse Club.
