I am still in the new phase of slowing down my brain from all the recording these last months. New phase involves moving more, seeing humans, starting mundane tasks like accounts, paperwork, website work etc. and cutting myself some slack. After the Criterion songs gig on Thurs which I did on 4hrs sleep, I was REALLY tired. Kinda been tired since - this is partially due to brain slowing down, plus doing movement again (walking and park gym) - out of condition what with all the studio work, and disturbed sleeps. I have seen some humans too, so the plan is working. But otherwise I am yawning a lot...
Saturday
Gig-free weekend - no bad thing - drove to Sheffield to visit family - was fed - had long walk - drove home. Hard to settle on arrival home so watched some old b&w film with Cary Grant & Frances Drake - Ladies Should Listen (1934) - fun - and only an hour long...
Sunday
Had meeting/rehearsal with Grace & Lawrence from Grace & The Magic Roots - we're doing a double-header gig on Tuesday which will aslo be a kind of album launch for Out Of The Blue.
lanned a bit anc caught up - I havent seen them in quite a while - we did a split gig once but many years ago. We worked out 2 songs each we could jam topgether for Tues. Poor things, they had done a gig in Manchester the previous night, playing in a pirate band, and only got back at 7am! - That would've knocked me out for a week!
