Govannen - Burns Night 2 - South Kilworth

So after 4 and a half hours sleep, a drive to Cambridge and back for my sister in law's funeral, a quick power nap, a snack and then straight out I went to a Burns Night ceilidh for a whiskey tasting club in South Kilworth Vilage Hall. We had organised a friend to play Scottish bagpipes at the start of the meal.
Definitely a game of 2 halves. First set everone danced enthusiastically and it went so well. Then a break. I suspect the whsikey tasting took it's toll as the ceilidh dances had suddenly become too coplicated to follow for many, so we switched to rock and roll set for them to bop to, which was appreciated. It seemed like a totally different crowd to Set 1.
It was fine though.
I supernaturally tired though when I got home... zzzzz

Anniversaries...

I get a lot of music anniversaries as each year comes along, and 2015 has loads of major ones...

The Rain Garden - 30 years! - World music group based around myself and sitar player Carl Peberdy - 8 albums we made - Carl and I are still in touch but he moved to Birmingham so we've not made any music since our last album India in 2009.

Sounds Like Rain - 20 years! - First solo songs album! It came out in 1995 - first on cassette, then on own label CDr, before the ZahZah label re-released it with a new cover on CD in 1999.

Govannen - 10 years since Govannen became a band of that name with the release of the Healing Waters album.

Paradise Music - 10 years since I started recording with the new age label - I made 28 albums for them in different combinations and collaborations. I'm listening througb to them all in date order which is quite interesting for me to hear the changes and things that have stayed the same...

3 jazz albums - 20 years! I got quite jazzy 20 years ago and 3 albums celebrate their 20th anniversary.
Deja Blue - I sat down one day and simply recorded my jazz songs.
Unnatural Prospect - a free jazz outing. Only recently remastered it. I don't rmember ever selling a copy :-)
