Got up early. 7.am - which felt earlier after last nights late gig.
Worked on the cover art and graphics for the Memory Wire live at Fingerprints album. An indulgence really as few buy or listen to our ambient electronic albums but we make them anyway as things of beauty in their own right. Cover art found and agreed with Jim. I was painfully aware though that I had done none of the publicity things for our last album Aura that I had made such an elegant to-do list for. I am slightly more resolved to do some of those things as I still have quite a few copies of the album from our first ever short run...
Facebook break occasionally wobbled as I felt the need to share an arty photo and respond to a photo someone else sent. It's hard on a run of gigs to do the "other" things that are good for me instead - socialise (apart from with bandmates) and excersize. Hence FB temptation. I compromise by forwarding Livejournal entries.
So I got a power nap in and on to play at the Leicester University Business summer school gals dinner at the King Power Stadium (function room) - always a tricky get in - kit into entrance hall, then into elevator, then ourt into ante room, then into venue. Andy the Sax amazed me by reminding me we had been doing this annual gig for 10 years! The crowd is from all over the world, all mad on taking photos, before their return to their countries. We play while they dine until the speeches - often a long time. 2 and a half hours this time. My fingers were sprightly and somehow my brain seemed to memorise tunes I needed chord sheets for.
Came home and watched the Perfume Live @ Tokyo Dome DVD - epic :-) Much better than seeing clips on YouTube. The choreography is mesmerising. Head went to bed full of catchy Japanese techno pop :-)
Gig 3 in a row is a wedding ceilidh in Crewe!!!! - on a Friday night rush hour! .... We've not been looking forward to the journey.
But I, gonna be a good boy and do some excersize before then.
