Govannen's 2ns Celtic Earth CD launch was at the Donkey - as the weather was warm we were out in the garden/car park. Luckily for me it wasn't too sunny. Kev Reverb did the sound and there were many chums int he audience - most of whom were less bothered about the new album asd having a nice summery outdoor concert, so we did the tracks from the new album in the fu=irst set and went to entertainment songs in the 2nd set. I did play my bombarde live for the first time in over 15 years. I didnlt push it just doing the intro and outro to the Celtic Tribal Gathering from the new album.
I then had to rush to play a solo songs set opening for Talon across town at The Musician. I played the same gig last year - packed crowd again for them doing their acoustic set. I did a safe first set as I was a bit tired after the Govannen gig. Didn't feel I connected quite as well with the crowd as I had done last year - hard to say - I played them pretty well - had 40mins this time too. I watched quite a bit of the excellent Talon (Eagles cover band who in their acoustic sets do all kinds of covers instead - harmonies etc. ) - I had to go before the end as I hadnlt eaten and was feeling a bit wobberly.
set - Pround Of You, Alien Salad Abduction, Lifespell, The Wishing Tree, Wiccan Chicken (flutes), Green Clothes, Carousel, Make Your Own Kind Of Music
