Chris & Dan @ Wally's Song Club
Mar. 8th, 2011 12:50 amA rare Chris Conway/Dan Britton slot with Neil Rabjohn joining us on cajon drum. - we were topping the bill at Newtown Linford Village Hall with Yellowbelly, By The Rivers, Dave Wyatt Band and then us. Had to get there for 8pm but only took to the stage at 10.45pm.
I;d been feeling pretty rough all day - again that post viral feeling when I suddenly would hit a brick wall energywise and just feel weird. I usually wouldn;t dig a 2hr45min wait to play but it did enable me to level out after a dip I had after dinner.
A lass came up to me who I did teacher training with 25 years ago... and another lass who was a best friend of an old girlfriend from 10 years ago... weird.
We took to the stage in rather hurried fashion - decided to play a safe set - Dan said he didnlt feel quite on the money, I was OK but the bright lights in my eyes meant I could see nothing of the audience. We kept it light and it went fine - we sold 2 CDs in fact which was nice. Lifespell went well which was thanks to me doing it solo a lot lately.
