Sat - my cold seems to be mind and nocturnal which is handy. Saturday's journey up to Eyam, Derbyshire went very smoothly - about 90mins drive. It was for a wedding and in a marquee. They were keen dancers but the dance foor was a bit of a sloping slippery liability but all had a good time and we played with 1 break from 7.30 til about 11pm - then smooth journey home.
Sun - thought I;d feel rough on waking but didnlt so went in the end to the bi-annua Piano Party - glad I did coz apart from Graham Toone I was the only other pianist - there were 4 guitarists tho.. plus usual drums, bass & sax & trumpet. I did 4 songs - Deja Blues, Call Me, Tiny Sparow, & Unchain My Heart and joined on the jam at the end on low whistle. t was a nice piano party - good sound and not too bitty. I sold 2 Chocolate Bossa CDs which was nice.
Afterwards G & I went to he Riverside Festival which due to the weather brought out lots of folks - mostly just hanging out by the river - there was some dragon boat racing and a music stage etc. Walking round I met hoards of folks i hadn't seen in ages. It all caught up with me back home tho so nap was in order.
Looking forward to seeing Petula Clark again tomorrow...
