Well now that was a slow day but it all came together in the end.

Recording  - I did a few more mixes of the 15min "Air" track and eventually nailed it. Mp3'd it and sent it to collaborator Llewellyn - and he liked it so that's my work on the album done. He's gonna add some sound effects and fairy dust - then that should wrap it up.

Bit of a rush to fit in bank, eat, sort setlist, pack CDs and rehearse songs for the Vikki gig but I just got it all done.

The Vikki Clayton gig
was a delight. Its her last Leicester gig before emigrating to NZ and she had a real home crowd there with a lot of good ole boys from the Leicester music scene plus Vikki and Cropredy fans. I did a 30min set of songs Vikki sang on my albums and some new ones plus telling stories about Vikki & I. Then Vikki did a solo set then got me up midway thru her 2nd to do my songs she covered plsu ones of hers we used to do. Plus we told a lot of stories about gigs and German tours etc. Funny thing was with no rehearsal the songs all came back - It's like it's shifted from short term memory to long term memory. I remembered it better than when we toured...

Vikki & I met 25 years ago when she played at an acoustic club I used to help run, but first worked together in '96  - after we met on repsective German tours -  I got her to sing Coming in to Land on my Flying Home album. She's sung on 5 of my albums - I think I'm on 4 of hers plus the Cropredy video, plus she covered 2 of my songs. I shall miss her when she goes.

Oh yeah and I sold 4 Songs for Dreamers CDs :-)

My set - Coming in to Land, Carousell, Lifespell, Bobby Caseys (low whistle tune),  Leaves, Finally, Islands

with Vikki - Crazy Man Michael, 10 Years, I Want Something, Beguiled, Africa, White Dress, Who Knows Where The Time Goes, encore  - Big Yellow Taxi

today i posted off Celtic Reiki albuym to collaborator Llewellyn - job done.

All arvo I was recording with Clookai for her new age album - we added her chanting voice bits to 5 tracks - next week we will do all the flutes, then I have quite an editing, mixing job.

Today I got the new Markus Stockhausen double live CD Electric Treasures  - I listened thru - I must say it blew me away - great quartet inc another hero bassist  Arild Andersen - improvising for 2 sets of 45mins each, no breaks - but there are some great mellow sections, some electronicy bits, some jazz - One of the best albums I;ve heard in ages.
