Lorraine Bowen and I have been in touch online for 10 years, I did some piano work for her, she recorded on 2 of my albums - but we'd never met. Til today! Phonecall once, and Facetime once but not met.
She had a gig in Loughborough and suggested putting on a gig in Leicester. I did my best and hired a room and did what i could to promote it. It was so weird picking her up from the station and actually talking and being in the same place. We had lunch at local cafe - she was spotted by some students who wanted selfies with her :-) (she had great exposure on Britain's Got Talent a short while ago) - in fact it happened wherever we went..
On to the gig - which went as smoothly as yu would like. I did a 30min solo set, of mostly filk/fun songs. My set - Science Fiction Eyes, Alien Salad Abduction, Wiccan Chicken flutes, theremin interlude, Alien Jellyfish Song, Green Clothes, Three Headed Girl - plus Love Space Station encore

Then Lorraine did 2 sets, and I joined her for some schtick now and then (playing music box chimes on Ice Cream Lady) - I joined her at the end playing theremin on her song "Space" and the encore was a dre4am as we sang my song Love Space Station together (she sang it with me on the album)

Only downsdie was there were not more people to see it. Annoyingly we went for a drink in the bar downstairs and she was stopped for selfies twice. Wish i;d gone downstairs and announced the gig - though she wouldve had to come with me as i don't know how much they know her name as much as her look and the Crumble Song. I would never have thought to do so.
Still - those that came were in great voice and made it seem fuller than it was. It was a fun gig.

Next day we walked around the park and I drove her back to the station.
