I hadn't done a songs gig for some months and only picked up my guitar to record new age music. So i had to strum through quite a few songs to get my head back into Song World. I didn't want to do the same songs so I did an ambitious 1st set, including taking my vocal effects for vocal atmospherics, which I;d not used in a songs context before. Felt very rusty in the fur=irst set - I;d kind of cramped myself into a corner with the keyboard & electronics, kept knocking thingsover, forgetting lyrics, etc... I think I was just tired. I know I would notice more than anyone...

Then Grace & The Magic Roots did a couple of great sets.
My 2nd set was "hits" and went better but I still had the odd mind spasm (even in 3 Headed Girl! - my mind went back to that 10minute version at The Criterion years ago when I couldn't remember verse 2 and refused to give up...!) But the crowd sang along bless' em...

Then I plaed with Grace & The Magic Roots on one of their songs that I'd recently recorded with them, then they played on Science Fiction Eyes. Then we had a jam - (what a relief! no lyrics) - and it was a great jam - improvising always feels like home to me. Sold 3 CDs :-)

So i came home  bit annoyed with myself, but ultimately realised how tired I had been. Plus it did get my head back into songs. Plus it made me realise I need to get more songs gigs - even feature slots & supports.

Set 1 - Life Magic & Love, Easier, Stormy Point, Out Of The Blue, Storyteller.

Set 2 - Alien Salad Abduction, Superheroes Never Die, Lifespell, Coming In To Land, Proud Of You, Wiccan Chicken flutes, Three Headed Girl - Science Fiction Eyes* Improvisation* -
