Govannen - Owthorpe Village Concert
Jul. 5th, 2015 11:44 am
A nice change after so many wedding celidhs to play a concert. Quite a job rousing myself to be fed, packed and out for noon after so many late gigs in a row.
It was in a marquee next to the village hall (which at one time had been a WW2 prisoner of war dormatory - the lord of the manor bought it when it was decomissioned, and moved it to the village). Nice village do with food and everyone brings cakes and deserts. They pushed the boat out on Irish trimmings for us, putting an Irish flag up a flagpole and making a leprechaun for the stage painted on the same piece of card that last week was the Statue Of Liberty for an American themed night the previous week. :-)
We started with a varied set, but in the second set we gave them the singalong entertainment set. We sold 11 CDs :-)
Woosh - Thus endeth 4 gigs and a family gathering trip in 5 days - or 4 and a half days really. Am OK but tired... Runs of gigs kinda make your brain go foggy. I never could've been a touring musician I think...
