Jazz gig was quite tiring as it was outdoors playing for 2 hours in a hot sunny courtyard of Trinity House, which is quite a historic building with a surviving medieval chapel. The original building was a hospital for Crusaders in 1331, and we were playing facing the castle mound, hiome to Saxon royatly and said to be where Chaucer was married - but it's now just a mound...
The gig was background jazz for Leicester Law Society function. Lawyer gigs have changed in my time. Used to be almost all white older males. Now much more women - and about 1/4 attendees were (Indo) Asian women, and the president is a Muslim woman
