Chris Conway & Mo Coulson - The Alien & The Mermaid - Fingerprints, Leicester for Artbeat Festival.
It was packed :-) About 45 peiple int he small cafe. Alas some chums couldn't get in. Firstly we had some speeched about ArtBeat and about Gareth who created Fingerprints and passed away 1 month after last year's concert I played there with Memory Wire - was moving to hear his sister and to meet her.
I had fogotten how much faff was involved in doing gigs with my own PA. Was quitle lucky with parking, but 3 mics, keyboard, guitar, effects, flutes, Celtic harp & 2 guitars, in quite a small area, so that all cases had to be returned to the car was quite a job. All went smoothly though.

Mo played the first set - Her own songs and 1 story - 2 songs were from our Spirits Of The Mermaids album. I joined her on 3 songs and a wafty improvisation at ther end. She told me it was her first solo concert set :-) Her folks had come up from the south cost to be there.
Then a break.
I played the next set - mostly filkish songs to fit the theme, and Mo joined me on another wafty improvisation.
My set - Love Space Station, Alien Salad Abduction, Lifespell, Ten Years, Alien Jellyfish Song, Monkeys On The Moon, Three Headed Girl.

We sold 6 CDs and we were amazed to find that ArtBeat had passed round the had which came to £106.32!!!!!
