Recording, mixing, mastering, composing

Been a busy few studio days again working on the 3 albums - Celtic (Govannen), jazz (with Jodi), & new age (with Mo).
All progressing quite quickly but brain is quite busy flitting between them. Wrote a couple of nice tunes this week too - one for the Mo album and one maybe for the Jodi one.

Mastered the Govannen album, and found a better track order. Some fixes to do but pretty much there. Been working on the cover art too, again nearly done.

The Jodi album is nearly done - I need to do a final remix just nudging her voice up a bit. We are maybe going to write a song together and to that end wrote a groovy tune.

The Mo album is kind of effortless work really , mostly because many of the tracks don't have tunes so we are just jamming, and such tunes as there are are simple. I wrote a reeaaally pretty piece tho (which was first intended for Jodi's album but works better for Mo) - we finished it today and I am so pleased with it. All Celtic harp has now been recorded, we now just have to add angel voices to most tracks and I have fairydust to add.

St Patricks weekend beckons for Govannen with 4 gigs in 5 days so my head will get taken somewhere else then...

Uncle Roy's Funeral

Uncle's funeral was simple and fine. At Alford, Lincolnshire. Of us Conways, 2 brothers, 1 sister in law, 2 nephews came. Strange to have another family funeral so soon after sister-in-law Mercedes's just a few weeks ago.

Afterwards at her house, my cousin put old photos of Roy on their TV screen including several of my mother as a child and my grandparents that I'd never seen before. :-)

I also heard a story that Karl Marx once visited my grandmother's factory where she worked and might've met him! :-)

Actually the 2.5hrs drive each way in fair weather, straightish roads, listening to music, leaving studio head behind, was nicely therapeutic in a perspectivising way...
