Fri 7th
Govannen returned to The Royal Oak in Great Dalby - an old favourite haunt of ours but under new management - namely our chum bassists Neil Segrott's cousin. Neil was there dining with chums. We were a quartet again as Roger had gone on tour to Holland. Odd to be back in the old routine. We did a mellow set of songs and tunes we don't do much anymore, and a set of crowd pleasing uppy Irish songs, tunes and some pop. Nice one.
Sat 8th
We went to Wansford - an unusual village passing over an old bridge to enter it, to play at a wedding. Delightfully the couple had seen our website, the groom was a sci-fi fan and requested my Alien Jellyfish Song! Awesome. They even improvised a dance to it, reminding me of the dance they do to it every year at Gafilk Convention in Atlanta. Great and keen dancing crowd, some fun guys in top hats dancing madly - we did 7 ceilidh dances in one night - a record for us.

Memory Wire - Aura
My ambient electronic duo with Jim Tetlow Memory Wire released our 6th album. We've been cooking this one up over the last year and one track we've been polishing for 2 years. We went for a different direction here - really delicate ambient music in which it is not obvious what instrument is being used. Unlike previous albums where there would be flute, voice, or theremin sections, we wanted to blur the edges and create atmospheric music with pads, drones, treated live sounds. One track was recorded live, and that has the most obvious theremin sound.
We are so happy with this album - we would like to get it out there more - show it to different labels, do the rounds of ambient forums and generally raise the profile of Memory Wire. We are thinking of doing a run of 50 digipack (card-type case) copies which we might use as review copies etc..

I made a little youtube with the title track, which is one of my favourite pieces of music I have ever recorded.
