By day a long piano gig, swapping every other hour with another pianist in the orangery of Kilworth House - very posh - for the launch of a new Range Rover for a car dealer. A guitarist chum who works there got me the gig. A nice Claviola was supplied, one of the best I'd played. Was quite nice drifting between jazz, new age piano etc...
Then home to pick up G to go to Warwick Arts to see the Hillards and Fretwork - a viol ensemble - perform old and new music including Gavin Bryars who i chatted to in the interval and he remembered me from his time in Leicester. It was all a bit flawed for me - the Hillards were stood behind the viol group and sonically were quieter than them - to be honest it didnlt really make for a nice blend as I had expected. I was also a bit disappointed by the Hillards who to my admittedly fussy ears weren't always in tune...
It was nice to see it but musically it was a bit average and slightly annoying...
