Been enjoying Steve Kuhn's new CD Wisteria - just nice jazz trio for most I;m sure but I go a long way back with Mr Kuhn so it;s like a call from an old friend. Steve Swallow on electric bass too which makes a change from usual double bassist.

Odd bodkins - I wrote a new filkish song... must be the effect of being the guest at DFDF next year - "Superheroes Never Die"  - plusss I finished a filkish song I didnlt complete - "Vegetarian Vampire"...  I now have enough songs for a filkish album perhaps... hmnn...

I;d been looking forward to see the new Bollywood film Cocktail as it had the same writer, songwriter and main 2 cast members as Love Aaj Kal which i loved. I even persuaded chum Mo the Harper to come along. And... it wasn't good - Next to know underscore, i didn't like any of the songs and I didnlt buy the story. The lack of underscore made me and others in the cinema fidgety. You could see what they were trying to do but it just didnlt work, although Deepika Padukone probably played the best acting of her career. It all just tried too hard. I was well dissappointed. .... Mind you I didnlt expect at all to like Bol Bachchan that i took my brother and nepher to last week but I did...  Luckily yhr Bollywood cinema on a Tues is only £3.50

I;ve been enjoying having the big elec piano in the loft studio. I've started recording an album for me - like my solo piano Glisten album but with more instruments - I started with some piano tunes I;ve had in my head for over 20 years... One track is VERY influenced by John Taylor & Azimuth and the other big piece is VERY influenced by Steve Kuhn's Trance. I did a little reprise and another short piano piece with a hint of electronics.
Here are the 4 tracks so far.
