Kontra Roots Club

After 2 weeks of lurgy I was keen to play again. Though my lungs were a bit of a mess still and I felt rough on the way to the gig, the songs slot at Kontra Roots club at Finedon went well, partially thanks to Sudafed decongestant which I took on the way - it helped a lot but certainly weirds one out. On the way there I thought I was gonna just play and run away but after my set I felt better and stayed to the end. Chums Skats & Liz were there and also on the bill. Main band were 7 piece Celtic band who were very tight.

My set - Hadn't gigged in 2 weeks with the lurgy so I stuck to a safe set and strung it out with chat as much as I could. Voice was OK tho I was keen to cough mid song. Nice listening crowd & proper stage. I was delighted at the response to the schtick and songs. I sold 5 CDs and people asked for CDs with Proud Of You & Forget About You which was nice. After my slot tho still a bit weirded by the drug, did suddenly feel stronger in the lungs and voice which is still true today tho i am a little tired. Good for the soul to be gigging again.
