Govannen ceilidh in Birmingham - Gig itself went fine. Journey was bad tho as Brum's one way system confused the Satnav putting us in an eternal loop. Worst get-in ever too involving stairs, elevator, unload, repark in multi-story carpark & get lost on walk back to venue.... After gig - walk to carpark to pick up car, get lost on drive back to venue... Got back at 1.30am...

woke next day with another lurgy - sore throat and tight lungs..

Decided I couldn't go to the filk convention - didnlt want to spread it plus I need to be well enough to do a Govannen gig on Saturday night in Stanford - if well enough will do a daytrip visit on Sunday to the filk con...

15 years late I'm finally catching up with Dan Ar Braz Heritage of the Celts. My brother & were big fans of Dan but when he started the Heritage of the Celts thing got so huge in France (like Riverdance but music only) we thought he'd sold out and we missed his guitar solos. Now it all sounds good (guess I've mellowed some) and the best is really the best Celtic fusion ever. Plus Donal Lunny produced the first album...

f unny - Lunny, Capercaille singer, Bagad Kemper, Jacques Pellen on acoustic guitar, Moving Hearts members - what was my problem 15 years ago? (actually I rememebr there is the odd sappy ballad song - don't mind that so much now) .

Odd it was sooo big in France but relatively unknown in the UK despite Irish/Scottish/Welsh stars involved
