Many thanks to deborah_c who ages ago suggested I submit a song to UK radio/tv comic songs man Mitch Benn. I eventually remembered to do this and he has included Alien Salad Abduction in his podcast http://www.mitchbenn.com/podcasts/

He also discusses filk after playing it  - he seems to think there is a controversy between filk = sci-fi songs and filk= putting new words to another's song.
