O Bar / Govannen @ Smiths / jazz duo at Barnsdale

Did a 30min set solo songs at The O Bar under the auspices of Melting Pot. Saw chum Dinah who turned up and had nice chat before I went on. The O Bar is a noisy student bar and it was quite noisy this time. I just basjed out songs I was confident on and then got into trying my usual tricks - low whsitle, kalimba, silly songsd, getting crowd to applud opening bars of my hit - and i won them round which was nice. One guy told me he'd downloaded the Alien Jellyfish Song to his phone WHILST I was singing it!

Govannen returned to Smiths - long trip - 1hour 20min drive - but we;re so used to playing long wedding sets now that 2 x 45mins seemed a doddle. We took my PA this time which suits smaller venues and made it more fun as I could hear myself better than with the big PA. Late home...

And early rise next day as I had a late notice jazz duo gig with Andy Nicholls at Barnsdale Hall Hotel - went fine and was nice to play jazz again - got home and had nap which pretty much finished me off - fell asleep listening to Jessie Matthews CD - she was still singing as I woke up after the heavy nap not knowing where I was - odd.

Finished an ebook - James Patrick Kelly's "Burn" - OK had some nice moments - kinda felt like a sketch for a novel.

Got a metal CD by Evergrey - Torn - I;ve been following their videos about them making their new album which gave me the idea to do the same. Theyre a bit heavier than I usually like and they are abit samey but there is the odd song that has a nice hook and one song I have been playing over and over so felt they deserved a sale.

Got a cheap copy of The Goilden Girls season 1 - fun
