Opening for Harvey Andrews
Apr. 29th, 2010 05:04 pmOpened for UK folk legend Harvey Andrews last night at The Musician, Leicester. He was great - not many chords but excellent lyrics - reminded me of a Peter Paul & Mary era of songs with issues and concience - plus some funnies - nice man too. He sang about the now-aging baby boom called "You Knew We Were Coming" for 60 years...really hit nail on the head. And one about innocent lives in the balance "Someo'es Trying To Kill Me". Rarely for me for an acoustic I sat thru the whole show and watched a real master at work.
My set went pretty well and I felt the benefit of recent slots I'd played lately.
Setlist - Call of the Wild, Alien Salad Abduction, Lifespell, Future Beige, Bobby Caseys (low whsitle), I Don't Know
