unclechristo: (theremin)
After several sessions I finally fionished recording the 4 cds of spoken word with the hypnotist Tony Rae for the new age label - we'd started badly at forst sssion but once we had established a modus operandi and got a system going things went better - nice to finish this.

I also recorded blues piano and organ on  4 tracks for Nigel the Harmonica's blues band The Dangerous Dogs and posted it off.

Otherwise I;ve been planning my theremin set on Saturday at the South Bank - my 30min solo has now moved to 3.10pm and the 20 x theremin circle is at 5.20pm til 6pm. Mostly I;ve been thinning out kit - and trying things out with the mono amp instead of my usually stereo hifi/pa. Mono sucks but it's gonna be necessary to have the amp for some monitoring and taking a PA would be crazy. Also been working on the Sound-on-onsound looing function of my Gigadelay - I;ve always been a deay-biy rather than a looper but I can see for creating long works over time the looper is good - especially if I use some loops of arpeggiated Murf. Getting there... Maybe recording a solo theremin & fx album might get me there.

Today I was asked if I want to play theremin on a TV talent show - I googled/wiki's the production company and found they make reality shows like Date My Mom etc... so I declined...they did suggested that they suspected I was "too professional" for the show :-)

Gigs are coming in - 4 came in tonight and dates are starting to pile up - 4 ina  row in May - I try to avoid that now - trying to plan Conway family  gathering date in July is hard with weekends getting booked up gigwise.

Been enjoying the Bilko box set I bought...

I caught up on the shoegazing scene (must be the summer) and foudn i missed albums by Keith Canisius and Manual that I will have to check out. On the way i found a wonderful electronica/shoegazer guy Ulrich Schnauss and coudn't stop clicking on his tracks so had to order an album - Goodbye - such earcandy - yumyumyum. Seems in an odd crossover between electronic, shoegaze and electropop. Sometimes you think Tangerine Dream, then you think Kraftwerk, then you thin shoegaze like Cocteaus/Rumskib, or even arty Petshop boys.
