Moon Chants, website work
Oct. 1st, 2009 12:06 amRemember all that work recording and producing the pagan chanting album? Well it;s out now
Marie Bruce featuring Chris Conway, Llewellyn & Juliana - Moon Chants
Quadelectronic 16
Last night's Quadelectronic 16 gig went well again - 9 players this time - took me a while to get into it. More variety this month - bit more noise and rhythmic ethnic pieces. From a playing perspective I;m still feeling my way with the ring modulator. Does add some bite to the theremin.
Today was spent on website work - the monthly news thing, editing my video for Planet Christo TV show, and webs work associated with Moon Chants, photos, maintaining the site generally - takes quite a bit of work now. Keeping info and links & clips working for now 68 albums is quite a job. Especially as one wants to convey why each album is special. Mentally setting a distance between albums I;ve been and equal or main force for, and production jobs where altho I've done the almost all the music, and get equal cut or royalty, I was comissioned to do the work and the name on the front is another artist. This will in the long run help me focus better on those albums I was the prime mover to make or am the named artist. One company I was using for sale widgets for a few albums seems to be dead so I will have to sort alternatives for a few albums.
Got into a little spot of bother with agent about a journal entry where i was a bit disparaging about a venue's organisation in the heat of a moment late after a gig. Meant to post that one friends-only - eep - gotta remember folks actually read this waffle. Agent understood, but embarrassing nevertheless.
Got a real earworm for a Bollywood song Dooriyaan - I canlt stop playing it - love the arpeg synths, the choir bits, chords changing unexpectedly in the bridge, the way they change one note throughout just one of the choruses, chord/key changes on bansuri solo & choirs. Strings a bit much tho and ending coulda been better. But it goes ound and round my brain!!! Can't wait to see the movie which i have on order from the little Indian video shop round the corner from me.
