Melbourne Festival
Sep. 18th, 2009 01:44 amThe jazz duo gig in Melbourne, Derbyshire took place in a small gourmet restaurant the Bay Tree. Bit of a squeeze setting up. Sell out jazz dinner - 70 folks. A chatting and clapping crowd. Were booked for 2x50 mins but 3 songs to go folks got up and danced so we upped things and carried on a while. It was like a 60s movie like when Susan George & Richard York go to a groovy party
with the organ jazz and dancers. Except the dancers were 50s60s.
I was dead beat when I got home.
Today was saddened hearing of Mary Travers passing and listened to a lot of PP&M and watched my documentary dvd on them Carry On. Took some time off then had paperwork, contracts, public liability & invoices chores. Had a break from music making tho.
Was naughty and ordered Pagans Minds DVD limited edition box from Norway.
Also ordered the Manfred Schoof Quintet reissue 2cd set. I used to love their 3 vinyl albums on ECM but annoyingly instead of releasing all 3 albums in full they picked a best-of on 2cds. Better than nothing I guess but woulda thought all 3 woulda fitted on 2 discs without losing tracks.
