early reflections
Dec. 18th, 2008 12:19 amYou know I said that the mixing of the Continuum album was done - welllast night the Vizier showed me soem tricks with early reflection in a reverb program and it's effect on the drums - in particularly the snare and cymbals. We had to try various things to get the methodology. End result - a remix with the early reflections - really helps put the drums subtly a bit further away and not popping out of the speakers. So that took a while. I also started on the artwork.
My CD sale of reject CDs is ove - of the 10 I put up, 6 sold - 1 went for 13pounds - made 27quid. May do more after xmas.
My new computer comes on Friday so there may be a hiatus workwise while it's installed with stuff. Must do some more lifeboating from current computer. Hope the transition goes smoothly.
Got a fun pop//power metal album from Nocturnal Rites - Grand Illusion. Kind of ridiculous and brilliant at the same time.Lyrics that are very simple and sound impressive but don't always mean anything - eg "Fools Never Die", er.. yes they do...) Great for the car tho. Given me a nice earworm with Deliverance. Also got a cheap copy of the KH Stockhausen Helicopter Quartet documentary DVD which I'll watch over xmas along with That Night In Rio DVD (Alice Faye/Carmen Miranda).
There ya go - power metal, avant garde classical, and kitch 40s musical - a powerful combination this yuletide. :-)
