Peepul Centre/mixing/late nights & early mornings

Last night;s jazz duo at the Peepul Cebtre was quite as usual - mostly just played to staff and a New Zealand delegation.

Had looong mixing session with Mr Strangeguitar last night, mixing the new Continuum album - addressing some very detailed issues he had. - mixing this is quite involved at it's one 47minute long improvised piece, with various changes fromambient to free jazz, to minimal organ grooves to soundscapes. Drums are spread over 5 tracks and with jazz drumming the dynamics from soft brushes to big wallop is huge. Nearly there - I;d settle for how it is now but Mr S is bound to have some little ideas. Pretty soon I;m gonna draw the line and finish up.

I also put together my recordings formQuadelectronic into an order and on disk to evaluate. I also started work on an ebay CD slae - collecting photos of the sale items to be.

Met with G to sort laptop and all the trimmings for some of her family. Amazing what you can get these days quite cheaply.

I'm more than a bit tired - I;ve been having housepainters - they insist on arriving at 8.30am which after a late night;s mixing or giggn is catching up on me. Early to bed tonight...

Shapeshifting...

This morning I awoke at 8am to let painters in - alas - they didnlt come today - doh!.

Today I did some more mixing on the Continuum album, sorting some panning issues out. I think I;m getting very near the end with this one - as in "It;s mixed, coz I donlt want to hear it anymore for a while"

In the afternoon I went to Tiny's recording studio again to record some theremin with Shapeshifter - live band in the studio, jamming in suitable stoner/psychedelic/bizarre Shapeshifter fashion - Dave the Guitar had new guitar synth. Guest player Kev Hewick came as well - known him for years - a Leicester legend - we've often hared a billing, but we hadn't recorded together before today.
Fave moments were when poet Maureen Andersen blew a trumpet down the stairwell, and another time when the dog barked. Shapeshifters record it all live, keep it all in. Mad fun.

Put 10 reject cds that were gathering dust at mine & G's on ebay.
