Christo & Dan @ The Donkey
Nov. 3rd, 2008 10:05 pmWhat a stonking gig at The Donkey on Sunday - about 90 people came on a murky wet Sunday to hear us - I don't think either Dan or myself could remember a better supported local gig for us in years. We mostly stuck to old songs as we haven;t played together in a while (Neil Rabjohn joined us on the cajon drum). The only newish one for me was "Finally". The audience grew and grew as the arvo went on. A very drunk/stoned Mick Horton (local muzo from the old days) and was er... very vocal in his enthusiasm. We sold 4 CDs - 3 Just Be Real and 1 CC&DB Live.
Sets us up nicely for Lincoln Jolly Brewer on Saturday coming...
Today a full afternoon of recording with Adele the Violin from Govannen for the Forests album. Some great stuff. I wrote and recorded a new very wiggly reel (a bit like the one on "Finally") for an outro, whoch she learned and got down. MJust Dan to record on Weds, a day of mixing and it;s a wrap (I hope). It's my fave stage now - adding little layers - new little ideas. It kind of develops a personality - a life of it;s own. Cue Prof Frankenstein - "Its alive!!!!"Wrote and posted my e-newsletter out.
Back to the mixing....my poor brain...
