unclechristo: (theremin action)

Recording Shapeshifter went pretty smoothly - a 20minute piece with us (self on theremin (the small one) & electronics including new harmonizer) jamming over a Maureen's recitation of her translation of the Tibetan Book of the Dead. We then jammed another 20minute piece. Maureen on flute/trumpet/vice, Dave on electric guitar, Rizla on bass and another Dave on drums. Job done - pretty wild music - new harmonizer worked well. Learned some things.

Only problem was for me - everyone smoked...

Then when they left old chums Robbie and Dan joined Neil & self for a takeout curry - really nice to have us 4 old boys round the table swapping yarns and stuff. I ate the curry though my system isn;t really comfortable with oily food nowadays -

The only problem again was for me they all smoked...

I am so sensitive to smole now. For both teams it's so much a part of their ritual I really didn't want to stop them. But 5 hours with constant smokers meant my lungs gave me a really bad night and woke many times needing inhaler and feeling wired with the nicotine and stuff, plus the curry didn't help. What a wuss!

Carrying on adding 1 favourite track from each of my albums on my Reverbnation page for all to hear on the widget - going chronologically back in time - 14 albums now represented there.

Finished Fred Pohl's - The Boy Who Would Live Forever thus ending th Heechee series. Not top notch Pohl, no real lot, but nice to revisit the Heechee world and you can tell he was having fun writing it. Trying new to me author Alexander Besher - and his 1st book Rim - looks cyberpunky - we shall see.

Back on the Govannen Irish gig trail the next 2 days.
