The new harmonizer and I have reached an understanding - I did soem more programming and can begin to see the wood from the trees, so it stays for now.

Deli came round to record a requested piece for a wedding with Govannen - after she finished she agreed to stay a couple mof hours and record on harper France Ellul's album - she recorded on 3 tracks.

I then packed to play gig with Dave Kirk only to find in the soggy chaos of packing up at Weyfest I left behind the power supply to my Korg synth. New Korg supply didnlt fit old keyboard so hatily took new unprogrammed keyboard, only to find when I got there I forgot sustain pedal. Dozey herbert! - No matter as it was largely a night for low whistles. Nice club despite being in an industrial estate. Guitarman Steve Hicks was surprise closing act (with singer Lynn) - I usually glaze over with fancy acoustic guitar music but Steve is pretty special making the guitar sound like a steel strung Celtic harp.

The new Lydia Kavina album Spellbound came today - new and unusual classical works for theremin and ensemble from theremin diva including Rosza's suite for movie Spellbound and Howard Shore's music for Ed Wood, a couple of free Percy Grainger pieces and a couple of new to me composers. Pretty posh stuff..

How did Sepotember turn into a 15 gig month?

Seen on a poster on my street yesterday for the Moscow State Circus - as one of the featured acts...
"Astromov - Russia's only remaining Human Cannonball"

I was idly thinking that given that...
1. broadband is pretty common - esp in the uk
2. webcams are common, esp on laptops
3. lots of families & friends live far apart nowadays
4. skype and other technologies ahev been around for a while

...that I know of few if any people who talk face to face on screen like in all the best sci-fi.

I guess one issue is that the time each caller/reciever wants to be seen is different, whereas most are willing to speak or be heard phonewise anytime. Do you videophone?

I realised when sending out some blurb and a CD to get more solo songs gigs that no one album showed off all I do, and say I do on the blurb. ie, love, peace, outer space, kalimba, thereminish songs. I have 2 ideas for this.

1. a greatest "hits" songs album. - difficult to choose but at least half are no brainers - be nice to have a track off each album, and also tracks chosen had best be part of current repetoire or easily incorporated into same. Maybe include a new song - like they do. Maybe a few new thereminy bits interlude a la cool electronic micro-interludes in Buffy Sainte-Marie's Illuminations.

Question to the hive mind - assuming Alien Jellyfish Song and Alien Salad Abduction, Carousel, Long Day's Waiting are in what other songs in your opinion ought to be on a CC greatest hits?

2. planning a new live album - t'other one's a bit old and doesn't show a typical live solo song show. Nice to have guests and rehearsalings and friendly gig who knows I;m recording so I can start again when I mess up. The Donkey pub would seem a likely place - I asked there and they agree in principle. New year maybe.
