Govannen - Joules Yard / other w/e stuff
Jun. 23rd, 2008 12:00 pmLuckily the threatened rain held off mostly and it was mild so the Govannen gig at the partially open to the elements Joules Yard.
The crowd was quite jolly and mostly went for the uptempo songs & tunes so there wasn't much scope for deviating from the old ones tho I did squeeze in The Butterfly and Sally Gardens & Hammer Song which don't always get a look in at functions. We sold 2 Water is Wide CDs.
I also sold 3 CDs online this w/e - 1 In Balance, 1 Aramara, & 1 Singer/Silver/Conway (rarely sold!). I have to print another copy of the latter and send it off today.
Feedback from the band and self about the Continuum recordings was better than I hoped - I sure soudns different on different hi-fi's. I realised a few fixes which I'd like to do and which will be time consuming but then we will have 2 albums which I'll release separately over the next few months. I prefer 2 separate albums than a double album - 50mins of lectronic imrpov is a lot on it;s own.
I apparently have a review for Songs for Dreamers in the coming Rock n Reel - I went to Borders to get it but it wasn't in but fould a little Govannen Celtic Fire mention in the previous issue. I picked upa cheap copy of Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue.
Got a BIG lisdt of things to do like most Mondays so better get going.
