Well gosh Iseem to be in another 3 gig weekend. -
Friday was spent sorting bank stuff out with a battle with Natwest about moving savings with central office on the phone and local branch each calling the other one a lier about how it was to be done. In the evening it Govannen played a restaurant gig at The Noel at Whitwell - Deli was late getting to mine so I needed to do a white knuckler drive at speed accomanied by go-faster heavy prog metal on the stereo. Nice sedate but enthusiastic crowd. Caught between 2 stools really - whether to go gettem or give them nice dining music. we sold 5 CDs anyway (1 Celtic Fire, 4 Water is Wides) so we musta done something right.
Saturday morning I was foolng trying out making a vlog on new laptop (only partially succesful) and was driving to tawon when Andy ran me which made a penny drop in my head - damn - I;m supposed to be gigging. A small matter of flat tire being fixed then was folloed by another white knuckler drive - we made it JUST in time and just had set up when party came to join us on th lawns of Abbotts Oak country house. Lovely 90th birthday party and they loved the music - the 90yr old in question a marvel - still loving to dance to te old songs.
In eveing came down with My Name is Earl DVDs and I wrote my newsletter. - not quite finished.
Sunday - well we have a Ceilidh with Govannen & Cathy at Grantham Folk Festival - I;m a little sleepy now...
