Thursday, very late in the day I agreed to cover a gig for Dan Britton at Unity in Peterborough as he was poorly. Too late to tell Peterborough chums I;m afraid. Was just a 40min set. Gig was very quiet - about 10-15 when I was on - I gave them eccentric set with theremin and whistles which went fine.
set - I Don't Know, Alien Salad Abduction, Lifespell, Bobby Caseys, Wake Me Up When It's Over, theremin Over the Rainbow, theremin improv, Homecoming, Rainbow Real.
Friday I did some websitestuff sortng out new download widgets for some album pages plus listening to the mastered version of Clookai's album spotted a few possible fixes. G's new car came 2day so in the evening we took it for spin to a village pub at Foxton.
Saturday - The Govannen gig at Wing was wild - hard to guage at forst soundwise and audiencewise - big turnout. Once we figured they liked singalongs the best it went well. Sold 2 CDs 1 Celtic Fire, 1 Water is Wide. Audience were prettywld for singing.
Sunday - chores & chillin - Tonight we go and see Ken Dodd.
Laptop update I have finally given up on the Novation SL midi keyboard with it;s fancy Automap - whenever it goes on the laptop it makes Windows freeze on shutdown - I,ve tried just about everything in the last month - either they'll take it back or it'll go on ebay. Shame as te potential is great but it;s all too complicated even if it did work out for my machine. I system-restored to a oint before the Novation software went on nd everything is fine. Using the old Edirol which went on fine. A relief to be rid of this problem.
Boowise I finished Carol & Fred Pohl's short story anthology The Great Years. Really great short stories - will look out for vol 2.
DVDwise I finished my Preston Sturges Box Set by watching Hail the Conquering Hero - a fun film and tho not his best was a fun watch. I also fnished my Twilight Zone Season 1 Box set - having already seen Season 2 I guess I;ll need to find Season 3 sometime. Moving on for now to My Name is Earl Season 2 and carrying on with The Adams Family Season 2 - or 3.
