today I thought I might venture further into New york but got to Greenwich Village again and just ran out of steam. I probably coulda made it to a galery like I wanted but I wouldn'tve been able to walk round - so I stopped at a cafe or two and hobbled back to ladymondegreen & akawil's flat in the rain - and slept.

Tried to muster enough energy to venture out to meet as arranged with lovely eccentric friend Renee Spizz who I haven't seen in maybe 4 years. Got to meeting point early (Greenwich Village again) and suddenly again felt lousy. Renee in car picked me up and the heavens opened into a torrential storm with lightening etc. e eventually found somewhere to park and eat. I didn't really eat but slowly thru sitting and chatting unwound a bit and felt better. Renee was great value as always and we had a good chat. Walked home in the still constant rain and had nice catchup chat with ladymondegreen and akawil.

Hope I can get to a gallery tomorrow - gonna have to get there with as little walking as possib;e - weird how strong this post-viral thing is - I don't like feeling so weak in the middle of a city...
Still hopefully I'm improving each day a little...

Thanks to all for kind comments about my performance at Confluence - I was so glad I could perform in any way - those who want to see photos of the con should look at report on ohiblather's LJ.

What a turnaround today was.
It began witm me feeling awful - no energy and stressy spells.
I was full of tales of woe to UK folks I phoned
I cancelled some gigs on my return, to find my piano residency at the restaurant has been stopped - cost cutting, - maybe for a few months, maybe for good, or only for weddings/functions - downer as this was a good earner - upside was I was getting a little weary of it, and losing my Sat nights all the time. Maybe for the best - better cut spending tho...

Struck out to 33rd St where I was just gonna walk about & come home - I trudged on to Broadway & Times Square... still pretty weak.
Then on way back it kind of lifted and I weighed up te odds of a trip waaay up to 89st Gugenheim gallery I'd been promising myself - this was my Everest - I bravely took the bus which took ages and I made it with 1 hr to spare b4 closing which was fine as it didn't take long. This felt a great victory - oddly they had the same Brancusi exhibition that the Tate Modern had a while back that K48 raved over a while back.

Rather than join Ladymondegreen & family birthday meal I went to Greenwich Village yet again, (I even bought a GV T-shirt) ambled much more freely & less tired - got a techno-ish CD that'd been playing in a store the other day (Dublex Inc) , had cheap plain veggieburger& chips & cappucino in open air cafe on a mild night reading my ebook watching the Village go by - heard a snatch of Santana Europa from a passing cab and felt happy and peaceful for 1st time since the bug descended last Friday...

Home tomorrow night - what to do with the day, tho...?
