Krishna be priased I had no gig today
Cold improving slowly...but lingers - not looking forward to gigging 2morro lunch, easy as those piano party gigs are - I just turn up with a few other pianists, do my 3 numbers here then joijn in the jam at the end. My voice is ropey with this cold and I usually rely on that at the piano parties...ah well - we'll see what tomorrow brings...I can always take Sudafed the wonderdrug.

Did 3 months of on screen accounts
In the evening I did some website work, and rang brother Jules in Spain.

Then I watched Tarkovsky's Mirror on DVD.
Woosh! - what a rush to see the work of a real master. I had forgotten much of the film - no wonder - mostly images and memories and poetry. But wow - always inspiring. Hearing Artemiev's score really makes me want to get stuck into some electronic music.
I really must dabble more. Just fool around music-wise - tinker, call it what you will. These days I gig too much and tinker not nearly enough.

Maureen Anderson emailed to say there might be a chance of a Richie Havens support in March...

Awoke still pretty coldy woldy

The car battery was flat
I rang basist big Neill for assistance - he rang back 10mins later and told me his car was flat too. He came round in his van and jump started my car.
Made it to the piano party in time to do some...
1. Comfort & Joy as a slow instrumental bluesy-ish arrangement
2. Deja Blues
3. The Creator Has Master Plan (Leon Thomas/Pharoah Sanders song)
then later I did
4. I Put A Sell On You (Screamin Jay Hawkins)

then joined in the 4-on-a-piano jam singing Wine Wine Wine.
Luckily found I could sing...
Glad I got out and saw some folks including Nancey Whiskey bless her.

Back hom in the warm - K48 said she might pop round later with some butternut squash soup - yum.
