This is something of a relief as of all albums this year, this one has been the troublesome one technically - at every stage. Some albums are a breeze and come together easily - others you have to fight to get it right.
It began with a day long session back in May I think. That gave us just over half the album, and I had to take over mixing, editing and producing for technical reasons. This was quite a job. Other tracks were assembled by post, before more instruments were added to the whole mix. Eventually I got the mix right.
Then the artwork - which went thru all kinds of difficult stages before the final one was chosen - then there were technical probs with the artwork at everystage right up to changes made at the factory.
Now - it's as if none of the difficulties happened as it looks and sounds great. I can't quite forget this childs difficult birth but it is receeding in the realisation that its quite a groovy album.
Today I tried to relax, which I did quite well till about 4pm then I had to get out - picked up soem pay at the guitar shop and dropped in on the avant garde cd shop and resisted buying.
Then tonight final gig b4 xmas with Andy the Sax at the Mexican Restaurant.
